Rejoicing

I love being a mom, but this weekend I was able to take a bit of time off to attend the Sisters conference in Hershey where Liz Curtis-Higgs was the featured speaker.  I was in my glory.  I knit, talked, ate ice cream, increased my understanding of the Word, and worshipped the Lord.  What more could a girl want for a weekend get-away?

Kim Walker-Smith is a sincere lover of God, and despite barely being able to talk by the end of the weekend, her worship to God was still conveyed in such a mighty way.

I was so honored to meet her and to be able to thank her for her great worship which is such a blessing to myself and my daughter, who watches YouTube with me.

If you are reading this and wondering what on earth I'm talking about, worshiping the Lord and all, for me, worship is more than just singing or playing (I'm a violinist.)  It's about seeking to bless the heart of God who has done so much more for me than I could ever do for Him.  It brings healing, forgiveness, rejoicing, refreshment, and fulfillment.  More importantly though, it blesses the great God who has kindness on us although not one of us deserves it.

But the eyes of the Lord are on those who fear him,
on those whose hope is in his unfailing love,
~Psalm 33:18

No matter what your background, culture, or lifestyle, God loves you!
