Making Alice Proud

I keep telling Savannah that her grandma would be so proud of her.  Her grandma, Alice, basically raised her until she passed away in 2009.  Alice would take Savannah every year to see the musical at the local high school.  This week is the week when Savannah does something that I think would be so special in Alice's eyes.  She is the costume manager in her high school's production of The Wiz.  What an amazing tribute to her grandmother who so lovingly introduced Savannah to the world of theater.

Last weekend, Savannah did something else that would have brought a smile to Alice's face.  She dug through her grandmother's recipe box and found her favorite snack, deviled eggs.  Our family enjoyed the delicious appetizer last Sunday after we dedicated Addie.  That egg plate was the first plate clean, and I wasn't watching, but I wonder if Savannah didn't eat half of them herself.

Alice's Deviled Eggs

6 Hard Boiled Eggs
5 Tbsp. mayonaise
1 tsp. vinegar
1/2 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
1/4 tsp. mustard
1/4 tsp. salt
dark pepper
2 tsp. minced onion
2 tsp. paprika

Cut hard boiled eggs lengthwise. Remove yolks and mash.  Add mayonnaise, etc. Mix till smooth.  Add onion.  Garnish with paprika.

(Of course you can substitute any of these ingredients for organic as we did.)
