Happy Easter!

"He is not here; for He is risen, as He said."
~Matthew 28:6

Happy Easter, even if I am a day late- it's never the wrong day to celebrate Christ's resurrection.

This year we used natural egg dyes!  It was an adventure and an experiment all at once, but we loved it, and next year we will know just what to do.  Our favorite technique (shown above) was to boil the eggs ahead of time and then soak them in the dye and vinegar overnight in the fridge.  Our favorite dyes were made by...

  • blue- red cabbage
  • brown- coffee
  • golden yellow- taragon
  • deep purple- grape juice concentrate
  • pale yellow- carrots
  • red/pink- beets
Did you know that you can dye brown eggs too!  It makes a slightly different color.  For more details check here and here.

  1. Lovely eggs! For some reason your current blog posts are not showing up in my google reader (for about a month), in case you're wondering where I've been :) I have no idea how to fix it!
