Why Should I Care?
This week Farmer Dave of Left Bower Farm sent me this amazing article titled, "What is Organic Food and Why Should I Care?" It is research based and from an extremely reliable source, The University of Minnesota. It is very easy to read and understand, and they even include pictures. It was encouraging to me because one page talked about the startling statistics of childhood cancer among the children of farmers in Iowa. It also explained the much reduced risk of pesticide exposure when children are fed organic food. I also did not know that an important nutrient in breast milk dramatically increases when the mom eats organic meat and milk. This article is definitely worth reading:What is Organic Food and Why Should I Care?

This is the kind of info that I always think of when some people don't get it. That study that came out and made a big deal of "organic not being more nutritious". But that's not what it's about. It is about protecting yourself from poison and get what is freshest and in season. Definitely going to share this article with a few friends! Thanks for the link!
