"Not Just a Pretty Face: The Ugly Side of the Beauty Industry
" is the name of the inspirational book that I'm currently reading. I think it is such an important book to read particularly if you are pregnant or have little ones at home. If you don't like to read- just read chapter two.
I've known for some time that when a company uses the word "fragrance" in their ingredient list, that they don't have to actually list the chemicals used. It's considered a trade secret. What I didn't know was that in 2002 two major environmental organizations ran this ad-
Read it clearly here.
Even though I've already switched brands for many of my cosmetics, it still shocked me to know that lurking inside of the fragrance could more than likely be some of the most dangerous chemicals in the whole formula. I can't possibly put all that I want to say in this one post, so I'll ask you..
Did you already know about this? What are your thoughts?
I did know this and I've been trying to avoid "fragrance" and "perfume" for a couple years now- but it's hard! I've found that the more I've cut it out, the more sensitive I've become to it. Now I can hardly walk down the cleaning product aisles in stores, I literally can't breathe. You really have to be your own watchdog, don't you?
